Arts and Crafts Movement / Mission Style

The Arts & Crafts Movement began in Britain as a reaction to industrial mass production of goods. It was a social movement that aimed to bring back well-made, artisan, traditional craftsmanship, with focus on materials’ natural beauty. It also encompassed architecture, furniture & decorative arts which included ceramic ware, stained glass, surface design in wallpaper & textile, etc… Mission Style / Craftsman is its American counterpart – usually used in Southwestern and Native American Styles.
